Sometimes life asks us to begin again - not with certainty, but with courage.

For us, it began when our home, health, and belongings were lost to toxic mould. Like so many, we’ve stood in endless rental lines waiting for a safe place to land in a housing crisis where security has become a luxury.

Out of that loss, a new idea took shape:
if we couldn’t find a stable home, we’d build one ourselves. A home that moves with us.
A studio on wheels. A place to paint, share, and belong — wherever the road leads.

This is The Long Way Home  - our dream to transform an empty bus into a travelling art studio and family sanctuary.

When it’s ready, we’ll journey from Byron Bay across Australia — creating art, sharing our story, and offering workshops that open new ways of living and healing.

This isn’t just a fundraiser — it’s an exchange. Your support helps us finish the bus, cover medical costs, and keep our creative work moving — and in return, you carry a piece of this story home with you.

WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS

MOULD ILLNESS

We never imagined we’d be one of those stories — but here we are. Many don’t even realise it’s mould making them sick — they’re told they’re fine while the real cause stays hidden. In Australia, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) is still swept under the carpet. Families like ours are left to find answers and fund treatments alone. By sharing our story, we hope to shine light on what too many quietly endure — and help name what so often goes unseen.

SAFE HOMES & HOUSING CRISIS

Across Australia, too many families wait in long rental lines, competing for homes that feel out of reach — often settling for places that are unsafe or unfit to live in.

Safe housing shouldn’t be a luxury — it’s a basic right.

Through this project, we’re building a safe place for our family — and helping grow a chorus of voices that say enough! One voice is small, but many can shift what’s been ignored for too long. By telling our story, we hope to encourage others to stand up, speak out, and help create the real change families need right now.
