My works take on an earthy, yet ethereal expression, each piece is an immersion of stories interwoven, a tale of the feminine and her ever flowing sensual beauty.
When I paint it is my inner woman, It’s an expression of my freedom to be who I am. Instinctively wild and free - like the volcano that erupts with great force and also the ashes that fall to caress the earth like the gentle hands of a mother or a lover. Ever changing and not bound by rules, taken places by the whisper of the wind, the flow of a river or the power of the ocean.
My paintings start with a feeling, I am guided to the colours and from there I start to paint. Layers upon layers are built with strokes that flow freely with the movement of the music I choose to paint to. Paint is sprayed with water so it can drip and run with it’s own river of expression. Translucent glazes build to reveal life unfolding and the dot and dash work is the way I tell my story, it brings the artwork into harmony.
EACH STROKE OF THE BRUSH IS A CHANCE TO CONNECT WITH SOMETHING GREATER THAN MYSELF, TO TAP INTO THE UNIVERSAL ENERGY THAT FLOWS THROUGH US ALL.
